Two pressure cookers - one filled with shards of metal and ball-bearings and the other filled with nails?
This was the contents of the two bombs that went off at the Boston Marathon.
Has the whole world gone entirely insane?
Are we now in danger of terrorist attacks while watching or competing in simple outdoor activities?
Our kids are being murdered in their schools, we're being blown to pieces at sporting events . . . where will it all end?
Will it ever end?
Could there EVER be any justification for any of the recent terror attacks on the American people?
As I'm wiring this, I am reading the latest news headline - US Senator Roget Wicker receives an envelope containing . . . ricin?
Seriously? Ricin? The stuff is 1000 times more lethal than cyanide when inhaled - and there is no antidote.
The letter inside included an implied threat to effect of: "You haven’t
listen to me before. Now you will, even if people have to die,"(note the "me", implying that this is an individual)
Are we now going to start killing people if our 'demands' are not met? What if we all started doing this? There's a word for that - and one we do not even want to get in to. George Orwell was pretty close with his 'fictional' stories it seems.
I am about to do my weekly shopping for me and my little girl and I wonder . . . should I leave her home lest we be blown apart in the supermarket? After all, a off-duty police officer was recently gunned down in front of shoppers in a Walmart.
Am I being paranoid, or just understanding reality?

Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre
Connecticut Shootings
Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre
December 14, 2012
One cannot begin to imagine what horrors the parents of the children
slaughtered in this morning’s execution of young school children by 24-year old
Ryan Lanza at Sandy Hook Elementary School must be enduring.
As a parent myself, I am stunned, amazed and heartbroken that such
atrocities can and do continue to happen, especially in the developed world.
What is fundamentally wrong with our society that such tragedies can occur and,
more importantly, what can be done to prevent them in the future?
Is there really an answer? Can we ultimately protect our loved ones from
such atrocities?
Is the answer tighter gun control? If so, then what about our
fundamental right to bear arms? How is this amendment affected? Would a
complete ban on all firearms result in a lesser degree of gun-related
incidents, or would it merely make it worse by driving it underground?
Why are children the target of such attacks and why do so many
children of school-going age feel the need to brandish weapons? Is the
proliferation of violence-centric media partly to blame?
I am amazed at the level of violence portrayed in games available for both
the PC and X-Box platforms that openly glorify the use of guns and the mindless
shooting of fellow human beings.
When I was s a child, owning a 'Walkman' was considered 'cool' by other
kids. Now it appears that owning a gun is equally 'cool' and revered by many
kids. Where are these guns coming from? How are children so easily able to
obtain deadly weapons and carry them into schools?
Perhaps the time has indeed come for us to revisit some of our antiquated
amendments and consider the impact some of these are having on society For now
though, and especially at this time of the year, our hearts must go out to the
families of the children who lost their lives in this morning's attack. There
are no words to appease their agony.

Google and Gmail have been Hacked!
In case you were wondering, yes,
Google’s Gmail and related apps were hacked yesterday, resulting in fake emails
being sent to all your Gmail contacts.
The emails mostly contained a bogus link
to pages on CBS. The rest are just garbage nonsense. It continues as I write
this and is wreaking havoc.
You may be being locked out of your
Google accounts while you are using them, with a message stating that “suspicious
activity has been detected on your account.”
You are then locked out, your account
frozen, and you have to change your Google password (and verify your identity
either by a cell phone text message or a land line call.)
So far Google has not released an
official declaration, but the Google forum is flooded with complaints as users
realize that their Google accounts are being shut down because of “suspicious
activity.”
For now, I suggest you change your
main Google password, just in case someone *has* obtained a password list, or a
way of cracking Google’s password utility.
Better safe than sorry . . .
